Nick Mueller, Founder & Principal
Nick Mueller is the Founder and Principal of Pintail Equity Partners. He brings over a decade of experience in real estate private equity, with a career spanning more than $4.2 billion in total transaction volume across multifamily, student housing, self-storage, and early childhood education (ECE) sectors.
Nick began his career in energy investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch before joining Virtus Real Estate Capital, where he spent 11 years on the investment team. Rising to the role of Managing Director, he was responsible for acquisitions and asset management across multiple asset classes and investment vehicles. Specific to ECE, Nick led or supported the completion of 37 school acquisitions in partnership with four major national operators, helping to scale platforms in one of the most resilient and operationally intensive real estate sectors.
Nick earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
Outside of work, Nick is an avid outdoorsman and private pilot. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, and can often be found hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, or boating.
